We are seeing that the conflict has so far led to significantly increased production costs for us. Unfortunately, this means we must introduce a surcharge for all transports between Sweden/Norway and the United Kingdom, Ireland, Northern Ireland, France, Spain, Portugal, Belgium, the Netherlands, and Luxembourg.
This additional charge will be 20% of the total freight cost and will apply from Wednesday, May 28 until further notice (and may be adjusted if circumstances change). Please note that this applies to shipments according to our regular setup. All special and unique customer solutions arising due to the strike, i.e., route changes, will continue to be analyzed individually and costed based on the specific arrangement.
During week 22, ferry traffic is expected to largely return to regular sailing schedules. However, the conflict has caused significant backlogs that now need to be handled, which may impact our service levels and lead times.
Planned Strike and Lockout Periods: 
Gothenburg RoRo Terminal: 
June 1 at 16:00 – June 2 at 23:00 
June 3 at 06:00 – 23:00 
June 9 at 00:00 – 24:00
APM Terminals Gothenburg: 
June 2 at 06:00 – 23:00
Swedish Ports has received an additional strike and blockade notice from the Swedish Dockworkers Union (HF). This new notice means that HF is once again expanding its industrial actions.
The notice concerns a blockade on overtime, hiring, and new employment, as well as a blockade on extra working hours and rescheduling of regular working hours (FA-time) against all member companies of Swedish Ports, from Friday, June 6 at 00:00 to Sunday, June 8 at 24:00.
We continue to assess that the greatest impact will be on transport through the Port of Gothenburg, both import and export. There is a significant risk that trailers will be stranded in the ports during these periods, which may lead to increased costs such as quay and trailer rental and empty runs when return transports cannot be completed as planned.
Other extraordinary costs arising in connection with this—including but not limited to quay and trailer rental, delays, and transshipments—will unfortunately need to be invoiced to you as the customer. 
We are working proactively to minimize disruptions and maintain close, ongoing dialogue with you. Each individual situation is assessed separately, and we take the necessary steps to find the best possible solution.

WHAT DOES THIS MEAN FOR YOU? 
From November 25, 2024, the following information must be included with each booking:
•	Goods Description: A precise and detailed description of each item, including the number and type of packages, packaging type, and weight. General or vague descriptions will not be accepted. 
 For example, instead of "clothing," specify "10 men's cotton shirts, size L." 
•	Commodity Code (HS Code): Mandatory for all goods item lines, with a minimum of 6 digits. Each item must have its corresponding HS code. 
•	Seller and Buyer Information: The previously used terms 'Consignor' and 'Consignee' are replaced by 'Seller' and 'Buyer.' 
•	EORI Number: Mandatory for EU legal entities. For Switzerland, Norway, and Northern Ireland, where EORI is not available, a VAT registration number may be provided.
IMPORTANT NOTE: 
Even if NTEX is not your designated customs broker, we must receive all necessary information to process your shipment. For full loads, this information must be received no later than one hour after loading. For groupage shipments, information must be received prior to export consolidation.

CONSEQUENCES OF INCOMPLETE OR INCORRECT DATA 
Submitting incorrect or inaccurate data, as well as missing data elements, could lead to the following: 
•	Rejected declarations or customs intervention, with potential sanctions imposed for non-compliance 
•	Consignments stopped or delayed at customs 
•	Enhanced security screening 
•	Shipment delays 
COSTS RELATED TO ICS2 
NTEX has decided not to charge any additional fees for ICS2 reporting in 2024. However, from 2025, a clearance/ICS2 surcharge will be introduced to cover the costs associated with reporting requirements, both to shipping companies and later directly into the EU portal. Our customers will be informed in advance.
